Invisalign

Invisalign is a modern orthodontic treatment that utilizes a series of clear, removable aligners to straighten teeth and correct various dental issues.

Unlike traditional metal braces, Invisalign aligners are made of a transparent, plastic material, making them virtually invisible when worn. Here is a description of Invisalign and how it works:

  • Customized Treatment Plan: The Invisalign treatment begins with a consultation with our Invisalign trained dentists. They will evaluate your teeth and bite to determine if Invisalign is suitable for your specific needs. If it is, they will create a customized treatment plan tailored to your smile goals.
  • 3D Digital Impressions: To create your aligners, our dentists will take 3D digital impressions of your teeth using a handheld scanner. This eliminates the need for messy traditional impressions. The impressions are used to create a virtual representation of your teeth, allowing your orthodontist to plan the precise movement of each tooth throughout the treatment.
  • Wearing the Aligners: You will receive a set of aligners that you will wear for approximately 20 to 22 hours per day, removing them only for eating, drinking (except for water), brushing, and flossing. It is important to follow the prescribed wearing schedule and switch to a new set of aligners as instructed by our dentists, typically every one to two weeks.
  • Progress Check-ups: Throughout the treatment, you will have regular check-up appointments with your orthodontist to monitor your progress and receive new sets of aligners. These appointments usually occur every six to eight weeks. Our dentists will ensure that your teeth are moving as planned and make any necessary adjustments to your treatment plan.
  • Treatment Completion and Retention: Once you have completed the series of aligners, your teeth should have achieved the desired alignment. However, to maintain the results, a retainer may be recommended. Retainers are typically worn at night to prevent teeth from shifting back to their original positions.

Benefits:

Invisalign offers several advantages over traditional braces. The aligners are removable, making it easier to maintain oral hygiene and enjoy a wider variety of food. They are also more comfortable since they don’t have wires or brackets that can irritate the mouth. Additionally, Invisalign aligners provide a discreet treatment option, allowing you to straighten your teeth with minimal visibility.

If you are considering Invisalign, it is essential to consult with an orthodontist or a dentist experienced in Invisalign treatment. They will evaluate your suitability for the treatment, discuss your goals, and guide you through the process to achieve a straighter and more confident smile.
